Portrait of the artist not buying it. Style vaguely borrowed...

Portrait of the artist not buying it.

Style vaguely borrowed from @tkingfisher and her self portraits from her blog pages.

I had this idea forever ago to do self portraits in the styles of artists I admired. So this is the first. Unfortunately I fail completely because there should be some kind of snappy writing down here with a little sarcasm and silliness, and alas: this ain’t it.

laikaworld: The level of subtlety and nuance in the facial...

laikaworld:

The level of subtlety and nuance in the facial animation on Kubo is a real step up from the previous films. There is a large team of modelers, painters, and facial animators that prepare the faces ready for the RP team to produce. Even after the faces have been 3D printed they are still not ready to go infront of the camera. There’s still a huge amount of work needed to sand and seal the faces. Then each face kit goes through a test shoot to check for consistency, before finally being handed over to the stopmotion animators on the stage. I think the RP crew are the unsung heroes of the production! (VIA

Yeah we are! Though not quite so unsung, since this year we won an academy award for it.

Yeah we did that. *happy dance*
